COLUMBUS -- Adrienne Tourtillott earned her fourth medal of the season as she finished eighth in the nine-hole Columbus Invitational here Thursday.

Tourtillott scored a 53 to tie with Girard's Chelsea Boore and Pittsburg's Sasha Frost but lost the scorecard tie-breakers to both.

"Adrianne is still working on getting under 50," Fort Scott head coach Karen Curran said. "She's real close to getting her entire game working all at once. So hopefully she'll peak at regionals in a week."

Pittsburg's Monica Soper won the individual crown with a 45, finishing four strokes ahead of McKinzie Hatfield, who was playing on her home course.

Columbus and Pittsburg tied for team honors at 213. The tie-breaker procedure compares the scores of each team's fifth-best golfer. But the Purple Dragons only have four players on their team, so Columbus won the title automatically.

Fort Scott finished fifth in the seven-team field with a 254.

Cassie Ogran shot 58 to finish 13th. Jessica Henry tied for 21st with her 64. Morgan Morasch was 34th with a 79 and Katie Bristley was 35th with an 81.

"Cassie had a typical round shooting right at her average" Curran noted. "I'd still like to see her scoring closer to 50 by now, but like Adrianne, I think she's about to get it all together.

"Morgan and Katie struggled today. Both of them had some fantastic shots, but just needed a few more at the right times."

The Tigers finish the regular season with an 18-hole tournament hosted by Anderson County at 1 p.m. Monday at the Garnett Country Club.
