Greyhounds 0-4 at Lincoln Land

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Fort Scott Community College's volleyball team opened its season with an 0-4 mark at the Lincoln Land Tournament here Saturday.

The Greyhounds lost to host Lincoln Land 30-18, 30-25, 30-21, John A. Logan (Ill.) 30-20, 31-29, 30-19, Florissant Valley (Mo.) 25-30, 21-30, 30-22, 30-25, 15-12, and Kaskaskia (Ill.) 30-32, 30-12, 30-15, 30-19.

Nevada freshman Ashleigh Bryson was named to the All-Tournament Team. She had 13 digs and 27 blocks for the weekend.

FSCC head coach Angie Kemmerer also noted that Nevada freshman libero Kaitlin Holland also had an excellent weekend, recording 39 digs and serving four aces. Sophomore Emily Martin had 26 blocks.

"The competiton was good and we saw some promising combinations even though our squad was missing some key players due to injury and a family wedding," Kemmerer said.

The Greyhounds travel to Johnson County for their first match of Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division play Wednesday night at 6:30.
