Quad County Chapter 1843 holds recent session at Nevada Senior Center

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees, Quad County Chapter 1843, of Barton, Cedar, Dade and Vernon counties, met at 11:30 Monday, Aug. 6, at the Vernon County Senior Center, in Nevada, with nine members present. Earl Rogers led the "Pledge of Allegiance" and Leonard Ernsbarger gave the invocation.

Following lunch David Harms, director of the Barone Care Center, talked about the Alzheimer's center and introduced Chadd Ruddick, regional outreach coordinator, Southwest Missouri Alzheimer's Association. He discussed research and development and new medications for Alzheimer's, also statistics and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

A short business meeting followed. Marjorie Rogers read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the financial report in the absence of Marilyn Greer. They were approved as read. The usual collection was taken and a collection for Alzheimer's taken. Those who wish may contribute next month.

Final plans were made for the meeting to be held in Stockton, Sept. 10. Everyone will meet in the northeast corner of the parking lot at Wal-Mart at 10 a.m. to pool rides. Meetings are open to all active and retired federal employees.
