Previous dancers return to Senior Swingers event

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

It was a nice evening and the attendance was better at the Monday night dance at Buck Run Community Center. The floor was in good shape and with a little wax over in the corner for dancers that needed to make their feet glide better all went well.

We had two new guests tonight. Faye Arkes from Pittsburg and Rose Mary Carruthers from Fort Scott. They both were good dancers and seemed to enjoy the evening. I am sure they will be back again.

Harold Shoemaker from El Dorado Springs, Mo. celebrated his 87th birthday Monday. We gave him a hand of congratulations and welcome.

There were a few couples present that hadn't been for awhile and seemed to enjoy being back. There is always a few that can't make it every time. John and Betty Carson have been coming again. He has been ill and she is not too well. They seem to enjoy the dancing and do what they can. So glad to see them back.

There weren't any anniversaries this week to celebrate so we just say we are glad you all come.

There were a few new ones taking part in the line dance tonight. That is something that just needs rhythm and single and do their thing. I watch them from the stage at the piano and there were 17 dancing tonight.

There is a dance at Pittsburg Community Center Wednesday night and Cadmus Friday night.
