Mark, Haley and Katherine Shead returned home from a business trip in Detroit and to see relatives in Minnesota. They were house guests of his uncle Don Applegarth and family and grandmother, Shirley Applegarth.

In Fort Scott, on Thursday evening their supper guests were Michael Shead from Michigan, Larry and Vickie Shead, Garland, and Mary V. Shead, Arcadia. All attended Ashley Anderson and Matthew Shead's wedding in Neosho, Mo. on May 19.

Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens met in their cottage on Monday, May 14 with 10 present for the dinner and business meeting.

President Carole Garrison resigned her office due to poor health. Lilly Coonrod was then voted in as the new president and conducted the business meeting that afternoon. The group also elected Mary Lee Payne as Vice President.

Six cheer cards had been sent since the last meeting.

Readings were given by Jerry Coonrod concerning "The Stamp." Lilly told of life in 1500. Mary Lee Payne had a list of mother's lessons. Mary V. Shead offered some good advise. Ernestine Berkey cautioned "Don't Sweat It." Others present were David Peterson who voiced the blessing, Bob Cavin, Jack Payne, the treasurer, Helen Sisney and Forest Berkey, Arcadia's city clerk who had to hurry back to City Hall after dinner.

Come join the group for dinner and fellowship on June 11. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Michael Shead arrived in Fort Scott on Thursday, May 17 in time to take pictures of the Old Time School House where Vickie Shead and her 5th and 6th graders from Christian Heights School attended for the day.

They were dressed in old fashioned clothes, and shoes, they used old time slates instead of tablets as they were being taught by an old fashioned school teacher, Marie Hoover Marshall, guest from Fort Scott.

This is one of the many activities Mrs. Shead plans each year she has taught in this school in Fort Scott. Cousins of Mrs. Shead, Mariah and Macaela Murphy, who are home schooled in Webb City, Mo. were special guests that day.

Before returning to his home in Michigan, Michael, former employee of The Fort Scott Tribune, was the official photographer for his cousin, Matthew Shead and Ashley Anderson wedding on May 19 in Neosho, Mo.
