Program on G.A.R. Tuesday open to the public

The public is cordially invited to attend the quarterly meeting of the Mine Creek Camp No. 6 of the Sons of Union Veterans at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, June 5, in the Cheney Witt "Carriage House" on Main St. in Fort Scott.

Anyone interested in the study of the Civil War, who is a descendent of a Civil War veteran, or is interested in veterans organizations is welcomed to attend the meeting.

The program will include a brief history of the Grand Army of the Republic in Kansas by historian Arnold W. Schofield with special attention on the G.A.R. Posts in Bourbon, Linn and Crawford counties.
