Devon Ruritans meet, discuss Devon Days celebration

The Devon Ruritan met Thursday, May 3, at the Devon Community Center. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Betty Graham as President Joann Fowler was absent. America was sang by the members and prayer was given by Terry Graham. A delicious mexican meal was served by the Devon UMW ladies. Roll call was taken with nine members present. The minutes and treasurers report were both read by Cindy Lashley and a motion to approve both was made by Terry Graham and seconded by Bob Cleary.

Plans were finalized for Devon Days to be held Memorial Day, May 28. Theme for the parade to be patriotic this year.

Members to donate the items needed for the meal which will be hot dogs, chili dogs or polish sausage and sauerkraut. Any one not able to bring what they are signed up to bring, please contact Cindy Lashley as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made. It was also voted on to have the drawing for 1$100 bill and 2-$50 bills, please see Ruritan members for your tickets. Cindy to get kids games prizes and money will be given for the turtle race winners. Members to clean the community center Saturday May 26 at 8:30 a.m., please plan on helping clean that morning. Motion to adjourn made by Terry Graham and seconded by Betty Graham. No June meeting will be held. Next meeting to be held July 5 at 7 p.m. at the Devon Community Center.
