Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Justin R. Olberding

Once Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Justin R. Olberding finishes his field training course, Bourbon County will have three full-time troopers.

Col. William Seck, KHP superintentent, assigned Olberding to Bourbon County following completion of 50 days of field training supervision with trooper Jeff Scott, who is also stationed in Bourbon County.

He will reside in Bourbon County, according to KHP Technical Trooper Edna R. Buttler.

Olberding graduated on Nov. 30 from an extensive 22-week basic law enforcement course at KHP's training academy in Salina. He also graduated from Centralia High School in Centralia and earned a bachlor's degree in criminology from Benedictine College in Atchison.

At a recent injury accident on Tuesday on 125th Street in rural Bourbon County, Scott directed Olberding through various points on how to work the scene of the accident.
