Juanita Ellen Phillips, age 78, of Fort Scott, died Tuesday morning, December 12, 2006 at the Mercy Health Center. She was born May 19, 1928 in Fort Scott, the daughter of Lowell Hilton and Gertrude Ellen (Flesher) Carson. She married Paul Edward Phillips February 18, 1945 in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death February 24, 2000. She and Paul lived in Devon from 1946 until 1968, when they moved to McCune. Juanita retired from the Parsons Ammunition Plant after 25 years in 1993, and they moved back to their family farm in Devon. She was a member of the McCune Nazarene Church in McCune. Juanita is survived by a son, Kenny Phillips and his wife Bonnie; four daughters and their husbands, Keith and Linda Irwin of Hume, Missouri, Bill and Ruby Keith of Fort Scott, Danny and Paula Peacock of McCune, and Chris and Terrie Peacock, also of McCune; two brothers, John Carson of Fort Scott and Jim Carson of Wichita; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Leta Query and Maurine White; and two brothers, Paul Carson and Kenneth Carson. The Rev. Clair Uittes and the Rev. Jim Casselman will conduct funeral services for Juanita 10 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at the West Park Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at the Centerville Cemetery near Devon, Kansas. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday evening, December 14, 2006 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Uniontown High School Volleyball or Softball Program and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 West Wall Street, P.O.
