Last year, the Bourbon County Budget was approved with no mill levy increase, however, this year is quite the opposite. Local voters are no longer able to use vacation as an excuse for not voting in next month's special election. The Bourbon County Clerk's Office opened up early voting May 20 for the special election on a county wide sales tax renewal which is scheduled for June 15. Bourbon County has been awarded an additional $3,599 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The money is used to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the area.
