Homecoming Jan. 25

Fort Scott High School's Homecoming games against Iola will be played Friday, Jan. 25. Other events planned during the evening include:

* The Fort Scott High School Physics Club deli feed from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the commons area. For $5, the club will served a ham or turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce and tomato, chips, homemade cookies and a drink. Proceeds will go towards scholarships for FSHS seniors and thr FSHS golf team. Those who would like to donate but cannot attend may purchase a ticket that will be given to the Beacon to distrbute to those who need and will appreciate sharing dinner that evening. Contact a Physics Club member for details about donating.

* Adam LaRoche's baseball jersey, No. 17, will be retired at halftime of the boys' basketball game. LaRoche graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1998 and is currently a first baseman for the defending National League East champion Washington Nationals.
