Once again the volunteers of Uniontown came together to show its "Hometown Pride." The 107th Old Settlers Celebration was a huge success, thanks to all the volunteers who came together to put on this event.

Saturday began with many watching the erecting of the circus tent before going to the fishing derby. Even with the showers, there were 13 kids entered in the derby.

Culpepper and Merriweather Circus shows were enjoyed in the afternoon.

Saturday evening was the Texas Hold 'Em Tournament to benefit the All American Cheerleaders and the Uniontown Saddle Club's 26th Annual Ranch Rodeo. The evening was capped off with a Teen Dance hosted by Daniel and Patty Johns.

The Community Church Service in the park, hosted by Uniontown First Missionary Baptist Church, kicked off events on Sunday and was followed by a hog roast sponsored by the Uniontown Walkers Relay for Life team. The Dice Run was sponsored by Uniontown High School Senior Class. That evening brought gospel music by Robert and Cheri Bruner and Holy Cow and the Uniontown Saddle Club's Youth Rodeo.

Monday dawned bright and warm with the horseshoe pitching contest and baby contest taking place in the park followed by the parade with Laura Graham as Grand Marshal. Color Guard for the parade was Tech. Sgt. James Whisenhunt, graduate of Uniontown High School, inflight refueling instructor, 190th Air Refueling Wing, and Airman First Class Settanni, St. Mary's, Air Transportation.

Picnic dinners, provided by many vendors after the parade, were followed with much visiting, reminiscing and waiting for games, recognition of "Old Settlers," and winners of the raffles and merchant drawings. Following is a list of winners for the weekend events:

Fishing Derby: 7 and under: 1st Olivia Huhman, 2nd Kari Graham; 8-12: 1st Brendan Herring, 2nd Madelyn Huhman; 13-16: 1st Alex Huhman; Largest Fish: Jaxon Pitts, 17 inches; Smallest Fish: Candence Hull 4 1/4 inches.

Best Church Float: 1st Uniontown United Methodist Church - 147 years in Uniontown, we have lots of "Remember When;" 2nd American Baptist Women - "Old Town Square - Where we shop, sell our produce and have picnics."

Best Theme: 1st Mayberry Hometown-The Williams Family-Otis, Goober, Gomer, Aunt Bea, Floyd, Opie, Ernest T. Bass, Leon; 2nd Imagination Station Daycare -Where learning, loving and fun come first; 3rd Graham's Kids-Addy Labbe and Jensen Wiebe, homegrown narly pirates that sail the seven seas seeking the treasure of candy; Honorable Mention-Mercy-providing health care for Southeast Kansas since 1886.

Best School Float: 1st Junior Class (2014) - We are the class of 2014, this is our party through time; 2nd Class of 1962-we were seniors then and are seniors now and still cheering for Uniontown School in education, sports and friends made, new and old alike; 3rd Class of 1972 - the greatest graduating class of Uniontown High School, celebrating 40th reunion.
