To the Editor:

Our Airport Day 2012 was a huge success. We had an excellent crowd, great entertainment, numerous aerobatic performances and plenty to eat. The day started off with biscuits and gravy, provided by the Kiwanis Club. The FSHS Band, directed by James Fox, the FSHS Strolling Strings, directed by Cody Toll, the FSHS Select Ensemble, directed by Aaron Weatherbie, the FSCC Band, directed by Betty Jo Laflen, Ralph Carlson and Friends, Greta Adams and The Cherry Jammers provided musical entertainment. Later, lunch was provided by the local Pioneer Kiwanis Club.

The Airport Day would not be possible without:

Clara Schofield; Ashley Russell; Ralph Davis; Doug Osborn; Chase Comstock; Bobbi Myers; Chris Comstock; Diane Clay; David Martin; Taylor Watkins; Chris Allen; Caleb Gazaway; Jessica Combs; Pastor Jared Witt.

We would also like to thank Betty Boyko, superintendent of the National Historic Site, for providing their color guard and cannon firing team for the opening ceremonies; Pastor Jared Witt for saying the prayer; Taylor Watkins for singing the National Anthem; and City Manager Dave Martin for his welcoming remarks. We also appreciated Taylor Watkins, Jessica Combs, Caleb Gazaway and Chris Allen for performing their rendition of God Bless America.

Airport Day has become a very nice event for the citizens of Bourbon County and this area. I am sure everyone appreciates the time and effort donated by the folds and groups listed above. We hope you enjoyed the day.
