Fort Scott High School's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to record a 3-2 victory over Independence at Ellis Park Thursday to remain undefeated in the Southeast Kansas League.

It's the first time in the program's history that the Tigers swept the Bulldogs in the season series. Fort Scott took a 2-1 victory at Independence Sept. 10 that broke the Bulldogs' 49-match league unbeaten streak (47-0-2). Indy (0-3 SEK, 2-5 overall) hasn't won a league match since.

Independence took the lead on a first-half Lane Shickey goal, which also happened in the first meeting.

Tyler Endicott took a pass from Austin Rogers to tie the score early in the second half. Will Bush broke the tie when he scored off a long goal kick by Brett Allen. Chase Howser made it 3-1 when he scored from a Marcus Brennon assist.

Shickey scored again to bring Independence within 3-2. He almost tied the score late but defender Weston Woodring got to the ball and kept it from crossing the goal line.

Fort Scott is 4-0 in the SEK, 6-2 overall. The Tigers lead Coffeyville by three matches in the win column and face the Golden Tornado in their next match Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Ellis Park.
