Mark David Meek, 50, a resident at Lakemary Center in Paola, Kan., former resident of Louisburg, Kan., died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012.

Mark was born March 22, 1962, in Osborne, Kan. He was the first of three children born to Donald D. and Carolyn (Comstock) Meek.

Mark attended school and worked in production assembly at Lakemary Center. Mark had been a resident at Paola Lakemary Center for 29 years. He was as close to the Lakemary Center staff as he was his own family.

Mark loved fishing and piddling with mechanical "stuff," taking things apart and putting them back together. He liked taking pictures and had owned many cameras in his lifetime. His favorite music was country music with his favorite musicians being Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, LeeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. His favorite food was fish and jalapeno peppers. Diet Coke and Diet Dr Pepper were his beverages of choice. Mark also owned many watches in his lifetime with his dad inheriting those that "needed fixed."

He is survived by his parents Don and Carolyn Meek of Louisburg; his sister Marilyn Mueller and her husband Jason of Paola; his brother Mike Meek and his wife Liz of Bucyrus, Kan.; his beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Bonnie Meek and Mack and Pansy Comstock. Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church in Paola.
