Robert W. Miller, 82, of Pittsville, Wis., died on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the Crossroad Church (Evangelical Free Church) in Pittsville with the Rev. Bruce Naugle officiating.

Military rites will be conducted at the church by the American Legion Post No. 153 of Pittsville. Burial will be in Fort Scott National Cemetery in Kansas.

Family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church.

Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Bob was born on Feb. 24, 1930, in Fort Scott, to Warren and Margaret (Hutt) Miller.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Pulliam on Feb. 26, 1949, in San Diego, Calif., while he was stationed there in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 2, 1956, and continued to live in Fort Scott.

In 1957, they moved to Wisconsin Rapids and lived on a farm near Pittsville from 1964 to 2012. They just recently moved to Marshfield this past spring.

Bob was formerly employed as a payroll auditor by the Western Casualty and Surety Co. He was an active member of the American Legion Post No. 153 of Pittsville, was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He was also an avid Packers, Badger and Brewers fan (when they were winning). His favorite pastime besides hunting in whole world was cutting firewood.

Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn of Marshfield; children, Susan D. (Mike) Sutor of Middleton and Robert H. (Catheryn) Miller of Madison; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, Stuart A. (Marian) Miller of Severna Park, Md., and John M. (Lois) Miller of Hilton Head, S.C.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.

We would like to thank Sherry Meyers at the Marshfield Clinic for making it possible for Bob to go on his Never Forgotten Honor Flight in May.
