Five selected to All-SEK softball team

Five members of Fort Scott High School's softball team were chosen to places on the All-Southeast Kansas League Team. Per league rules, the team could not be released until all league schools had concluded post-season play. Labette County, the league champion, finished fourth at the Class 4A State Tournament last weekend.

Three Tigers were selected to the First Team: senior second baseman Kenzie Heatherly, junior catcher Mackenzie Jackman and junior outfielder Hannah Tourtillott.

LCHS has four players on the First Team, all seniors. They are pitcher Allie Reynolds, catcher Kaysha Julich, shortstop Shelbie Foister and first baseman Kelsie Goins.

Parsons is represented by senior pitcher Taylor Kemp and senior shortstop Sierra Kemp. Senior first baseman and junior shortstop Jordan Sutton were chosen from Independence. Rounding out the team are Columbus junior pitcher Breana Mogle, Chanute senior pitcher/third baseman Taylor Bailey, Pittsburg senior left fielder Megan Burdick, Iola senior third baseman Lauren Toney and Coffeyville sophomore outfielder Bailey Braschler.

Fort Scott senior pitcher Jenna Harper and sophomore outfielder Riley Brown were chosen to the Second Team. Also included are LCHS senior outfielders Tiara Ford and Kaity Rash, Parsons senior first baseman Sara Cruse and outfielder Sawyer Woodworth, Independence senior catcher Bailey Burnett and sophomore third baseman Lexie Wright, Columbus senior shortstop Haley Evans and junior outfielder Katie Vanatta, Chanute junior catcher Shelby Trout and sophomore outfielder Sarah Hernandez, Pittsburg junior shortstop Andie Casper and Iola senior pitcher Breail Thompson.
