Carol Jean LeFever, 76, formerly of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, April 16, 2012, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She was born April 3, 1936, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Bill and Blanche (Tucker) Madison.

She married Charles LeFever 36 years ago in Pampano Beach, Fla., and he survives of the home.

In addition to her husband Charles, Carol is survived by four daughters, Rose Thomas of Mulberry, Kan., Betty Phillips of Fort Scott, Teresa and Rick Allen of Pittsburg, Kan., and Dottie and Rodney Pulliam of Mapleton, Kan.; two sons, Gerald Phillips of Fort Lauderdale and William and Christy Phillips of Fort Scott; three sisters, Norma and Bill Kramer of Fort Scott, Nora and Ben Karleskint of Girard, Kan., and Kathy and Pat Thomas of Fort Scott; three brothers, Warren Madison of Fort Scott, Frank and Debbie Madison of Fort Scott and Claude Madison, also of Fort Scott; a sister-in-law, Marge Madison of Fort Scott; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Madison, and a daughter, Jimma Phillips.

Following cremation, Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct memorial services at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., Fort Scott, Kan.
