The July meeting of the JOY Sunday school class was very special this summer in that they met on Sunday evening, July 7, in the country home of Wayne and Christie Parrish, rural Arcadia.

The men gathered around the grill while the ladies filled the counters with the food prepared at home. Allyson Dugan was a helper in getting names of all present for the hamburger and hot dog cookout and business meeting to follow.

President Patty Peterson closed the meeting with this thought, "Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects." Christie, with help from Karter, Ryan, Jenny and Allyson, held a drawing for loveable gifts to the lucky winners. The ladies enjoyed looking at the homemade rings and bracelets by Christie.

Others present were Gary Peterson, Sunday teacher of the class, Mildred Nicoletti, mother of Christie; John and Vera Parrish, parents of Wayne; Charles and Willa Cable, pastors of Arcadia Christian Church; Jamison Walrod, Cable's grandson; Stuart, Ashley and Elizabetth Stuart, (he is song leader at the church); Ava Mae Adams, Mark and Janet Vanleeuwen, sister to Wayne; David and Carol Bridgewater, Ryan and Jenny Dugan, daughter to Wayne and Christie and Carole Garrison and Mary V. Shead.
