Linus Clark "Jeff" Keal

Linus Clark "Jeff" Keal, age 87, a former resident of Fort Scott, Kan., and more recently of Overland Park, Kan., died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Edwardsville, Kan. He was born Nov. 6, 1923, at Fort Scott, the son of Charles Keal and Maude Lockridge Keal. Jeff graduated from the Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Junior College. Jeff had served for three years with the 12th Air Force during World War II and had served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Following his military service, he married Virginia Carol Jackson on Oct. 26, 1946, in Fort Scott. Jeff began a career in sales soon after military service and remained in sales and sales management for the rest of his working life, most of which was in the insurance and securities profession. He began in life insurance sales in 1955 and continued to be licensed up to the time of his death. After his official retirement in December of 1985, Jeff and his wife spent much of their time traveling, spending winters in Arizona and California where they both enjoyed year-round golfing. They also enjoyed several cruises to many different parts of the world.
