Seward takes victory from 'Hound women

LIBERAL, Kan. -- Seward County forced 31 turnovers as the homestanding Saints defeated Fort Scott Community College's women, 64-41, in the first round of the Region VI Tournament here Tuesday night.

The Saints (21-10) were credited with 21 steals in the game. They also held the Greyhounds (9-22) to just 10 points in the first half.

Briana Bonaparte had one of her best game of the season for the 'Hounds with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Ashlie Baker was next in scoring with 8 points.

Mariah Lee led Seward County with 19 points. Kayla Thomas added 14 and Mattie Yanke finished with 10.
