Ronald Keith Roberts, age 53, former Fort Scott resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at his residence in Lee's Summit, Mo.

He was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Cottonwood, Ariz., the son of James P. Roberts and Waneda A. Blake Roberts.

Ron graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1975.

He married Donna Madden on Oct. 30, 1987, at Fort Scott.

Ron had worked for K & K Auto Part, Extrusions, Auto Zone. He had also worked as a mechanic for Bourbon County.

While in Fort Scott, Ron attended the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Kansas City, he attended the Evangel Temple. He enjoyed cars and also played the drum in the church worship band.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of the home in Lee's Summit; two sons, Jared Tyler Roberts and Joshua Ryan Roberts, both of the home; a brother, Weldon Roberts, Fort Scott, Kan.; and five sisters, Rowena Jahansouz, Olathe, Kan.; Deborah Silvers, Fort Scott, Kan.; Rhonda Spears, Lawrence, Kan.; Brenda Moser, Joplin, Mo.; and Linda Roberts, Pittsburg, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Duane Roberts.

Rev. Rod Hillhouse will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Orum Cemetery near Redfield, Kan.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
