Jeffrey Lynn Bronson, age 61, resident of rural Fort Scott, died late Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at his home following a cancer illness.

He was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Helena, Mont.; the son of Donald Bronson and Billie Merryweather Bronson.

Jeffrey married Suzanne Miller on Aug. 5, 1972, in Independence, Mo.

He was retired as packing supervisor for Peerless Products.

He was a veteran having served with the United States Marines.

His hobbies include bowling, fishing, camping and computer games.

Survivors include his wife Suzanne, of the home; his mother, Billie Bronson; one son, Jefferson Bronson and wife Kayla, Fort Scott; and one daughter, Brandy Bronson Ham, Bartlesville, Okla.

Also surviving are three brothers, Steven Bronson, Kansas City, Kan.; Doug Bronson, Independence, Mo.; and Greg Bronson, Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Jennifer Roberts, Jacksonville, Fla.; mother-in-law, Norma Kreeger; and four grandchildren, David Ham, Bartlesville, Okla.; Riley Bronson, Ozark, Mo.; Jennifer Ham and Morgyn Bronson, both of Fort Scott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bronson.

William James Schafer will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
