Hazel Diana Wolford, age 98, a former resident of Bronson, Kan., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at the Wheat State Manor Nursing Home in Whitewater, Kan., where she had made her home the past several years.

She was born March 13, 1912, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore Anderson and Martha Nelson Anderson.

She is the last of six children.

She married Ebbie Erwin Wolford on June 1, 1926, in Eureka, Kan. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1968.

Hazel was a member of the Bronson United Methodist Church, a devoted church worker, librarian, and an 82 year member of the Bronson Eastern Star No. 65.

Survivors include two daughters, Corrine McAllister, Potwin, Kan.; and Geraldine Reeder and husband Elvis, Bronson, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, Ernestine Frame, David McClimans, Patricia Starr, Roger, Paul and Tony Johnson, Steve Reeder and wife Betty; 13 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Roger Wolford, one daughter, Betty Johnson, three brothers, Earl, Kenneth and Grant Anderson, two sisters, Mildred Downard and Helen Shultz, and two grandchildren, Betty E. Purdy and Erwin Reeder.

Rev. David Shrum assisted by Todd Reeder, will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Bronson Cemetery.

The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
