Two Tigers picked to volleyball list

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Even though the Tigers finished in the upper half of the Southeast Kansas League volleyball standings, just two team members from Fort Scott High were honored with a position on the All-Southeast Kansas League volleyball squad.

Junior Mallory Shelton was one of three unanimous picks to the First Team. She was joined by Pittsburg junior Skyler Muff and Chanute sophomore Mallory Flowers, who were also unanimous choices, and Independence senior Chelsea Mundy, Parsons senior Erika Getz, Pittsburg sophomore Andie Casper and Labette County sophomore Michaela O'Brien.

Fort Scott senior Megan McDermed was named to the Second Team. Also chosen were senior Chelsey Nally and junior Shelbie Foister of Labette County, junior Morgan Hudson of Chanute, junior Kendra Taciet of Iola, and senior Jessica Anderson of Columbus.

The Third Team has Coffeyville senior Katey Crane, Parsons seniors Tina Jones and Erin Forbes, Chanute senior Mackenzy Sutcliffe and freshman Katie Martin, Independence senior Michelle Knopick and LCHS junior Tirara Ford.

Players were chosen by a vote of SEK league coaches.
