Catherine Joan Rogers

Catherine Joan Rogers went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2010. She was born January 14, 1948 on a farm near Blue Mound, Kansas to Frank Emry and Marie Ella Baker Rogers.

She attended a one-room school house (Quail Trap) till eighth grade then attended Blue Mound High School graduated in 1945.

She then joined her sister to attend Kansas City Women's Business College upon completion she worked for a Commission firm at the Kansas City Stockyards, she worked a short time at the City Market then taking a job with the Atomic Energy Commission where she received awards for her diligent and highly efficient work with documents and files in Mail, Records and Teletype where upon her work after 23 years she was the Supervisor of Classified Documents.

She belonged to the 200 club at Capital Lanes and appeared on TV's Bowling for Dollars.

She also enjoyed fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks. She also enjoyed traveling.

In recent years, she took up quilting. She worked best when she was helping someone else. She loved family and family gatherings. She belonged to the Marine Corps Reserve "Once a Marine Always a Marine." She was preceded by her parents; sister, Lorraine Rogers Snead and nephew, Andrew Frank Snead. She is survived by a step brother, Charles Richey of Iola, Kansas; aunt Kathleen Baker of Fort Scott, Kansas; nephew, Bill Snead, Jr., Elizabeth, Colorado; 2 nieces, Nancy Snead, Belton, Missouri and Beverly Snead Kircher, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one great nephew; five great nieces; two great great nephews; two great great nieces and many cousins and friends. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri with graveside services 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Blue Mound, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice or Salvation Army.
