DONNA D. PARKER

Friday, August 27, 2010

Jesus sent his angels to bring Donna D. Parker of Louisburg, Kan., formerly of Sarasota, Fla., home on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at 7:20 p.m., where she was surrounded by her loved ones through her journey to God.

Donna was a devout Christian, teacher, nurse, and loving Nana.

Devoted to her church and community, she served several offices on her Sarasota, Fa., PEO.

When God decided it was time for Donna to be born, He searched the whole world and found the best and strongest "Lady" He could, to be our sister, mother, nana, aunt, cousin, and friend. Donna was a strong wife, one of the best mothers, and Nana that anyone could have. She really loved her family, and all of her grandchildren were the twinkle of her eye.

Donna was born to Cleatis Carl Duncan and Thelma May Cummings Duncan in Fort Scott, Kan., on May 13, 1931.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved Husband John S. Parker Jr., brother Dennis Duncan, nephew Steve Lawrence, brother-in-law William G. Chambers, and niece Jordan Kaylee Duncan.

She leaves behind a brother, Dean Duncan; two sisters, Shirley Chambers and Doris Belcher, all of LaCygne, Kan., and a special Aunt Marie and Uncle Floyd Lytle of Jeff City, Mo.

She also leaves behind her wonderful sons, Mark E. Parker of Louisburg; John S. Parker and Phil Hoobing of Florida; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Very special thanks go to North Point Nursing Facility in Paola, KS and Hospice that made her journey from Earth to Heaven as pleasurable as possible.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at the Louisburg United Methodist Church 249 N. Metcalf Louisburg, Kan.

Memorial contributions may be made to PEO Chapter CV of LaCygne, Kan., and United Methodist Church of Louisburg.
