Everett Oscar "Brownie" Brown Jr., 81, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died June 30, 2010 at his home. He was born August 12, 1928 in Stewartsville, Missouri, the son of Everett Oscar and Roma Louise Hickman Brown. He graduated from high school in North Kansas City and attended Rolla School of Mines and William Jewell College. He was employed as a union ironworker prior to his retirement and was a member of the Ironworkers Local Union #10, Kansas City , the Masonic Lodge Rising Sun and Ararat Shrine. Brownie owned Fox Run Tavern at Fulton, Kansas. He married Patricia Ann Laughlin who preceded him in death on April 12, 1995.

Brownie enjoyed cooking, barbecue and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death also by his parents and one brother, B. Gene Brown. Survivors include one son; Rex Brown and wife, Brenda of Kansas City, Missouri; his companion and best friend, Marge Hughes of Pleasanton, Kansas, one brother, Loyd Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Corrine Riekhoff of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren, Jason and Katie Brown and three great grandchildren; Madison, Carlie and Curtis Brown.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the chapel.
