Ruth Marie Goodbody, age 91, resident of Guest Home Estates, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the Estates.

She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Fort Scott, the daughter of John Vincent Bollinger and Anna Katherine Schmitz Bollinger.

Ruth was a 1936 graduate of Fort Scott High School.

She married John E. Goodbody on Jan. 12, 1938. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1983.

She was retired as a bookkeeper for Western Insurance Company and Bruce Marble and Granite Works.

Ruth was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society.

She loved to sew and crochet, play cards and dance.

Survivors include one son, David Goodbody and wife Gayle, Redfield, Kan.; and a daughter, Carol Haulotte and husband Leonard, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Diana Goodbody, John Chris Haulotte and Matthew Haulotte; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Harry, Charles and Bernard Bollinger; and one sister, Margaret Lawson.

Father Darrin May will conduct Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Monday in the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m., Sunday followed by family visitation.
