LORETTA JEAN COX

Loretta Jean Cox, age 76, former resident of Fort Scott and currently of Kansas City, Kan., died Jan. 7, 2010, in the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born Nov. 25, 1933 in Girard, Kan., the daughter of Albert Cox and Mildred Welcher Cox.

Loretta was a 1951 graduate of Fort Scott High School.

She married Joe Schroder in 1954. They later divorced.

Survivors include three sons, Steven Schroder, Charles Schroder and Tom Schroder and wife Dawn, all of Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Billy Cox, Fort Scott, and Robert Cox, Murphy's Borough, Ill., five sisters, Sharon Baucom, Linda Metcalf, and Cindy Larsen, all of Fort Scott, Vicki Parsons, Pittsburg, Kan., and Teresa Ahmadi, Houston, Texas.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Sonny Cox.

There was cremation. William James Schafer will conduct private family services and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
