Elvin Dean "E.D." Johnson, 53, Walker, Mo., died at his residence Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 7, 1956, in Anita, Iowa, to Leland D. Johnson and Margaret Louise McAfee Johnson. He was married in 1981 ti Teresa Monroe and to this union, three children were born.

Mr. Johnson grew up in Long Beach, Calif. He graduated from Banning High School in 1974 in Long Beach. Elvin joined the U. S. Army out of high school where he spent two years stationed in Korea. In 1987 he moved to El Dorado Springs, Mo., from Olympia, Wash. He has lived in Walker, Mo., for the past 20 years. He worked for the Fram Corporation for 15 years and recently at Cash-n-Dash in Nevada.

Survivors include two daughters, Teia Hoover and her husband Jeremy, Fort Scott, and Holly Morgan and her husband Leon, Nevada; one son Leland Johnson, Montevallo, Mo.; six grandchildren, Justin Hoover, McKienze Hoover, Caleb Hoover, Samuel Hoover, Gavin Hoover, all of Fort Scott, and Brayden Morgan, Nevada; his father, Leland D. Johnson and his wife Karen, Greenfield, Iowa; two brothers, Dale Johnson, Clayton, N.C., and Lyle Johnson, Laguna Nigual, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret L. Johnson.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Terry Mosher officiating.
