DARRELL (FRED) GRIFFITH

Darrell (Fred) Griffith went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 17, 2009, at the age of 71 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Ft. Scott, Kan. and lived in Buckingham, Fla. for many years.

He was a long time member of the Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his partner of 29 years, Jack Sapp, mother Leatha Griffith of Ft. Scott, Kan., sister Jo Peak of Girard, Kan. several nieces and nephews in Kansas and Boston, Mass. He is also survived by his extended family in Florida, the Sapp and Solomon families, and special friends Dorice and Ken Arend, Vi Zurowski, Bob & Sandy Toney and Paula Vasquez, as well as his families at Adventure Travel and Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his father C.F. Griffith. Fred was loved by all who crossed his path.

Visitation was Sunday, July 19 at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, July 20 at Gateway Lutheran Church with Reverends Jack Hyatt and Kathy Flores. Entombment followed the service at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
