Our beloved Parker Lea McKenney, 15, left us too soon on Tuesday, June 23rd.

She was born August 8, 1993 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Craig and Dana Marshall McKenney.

Parker is survived by a sister; Angela McKenney and husband Michael Houlihan, of Fort Scott, KS, two brothers; Reece McKenney of Fort Scott, Kansas, and Drew Suddock and girlfriend April VanBecelaere, of Pittsburg, Kansas, Paternal Grandparents; Myla McKenney, Maternal Grandparents Kansas State Senator Bob and Judy Marshall, nephews; Kieran and Colin Houlihan, five uncles, two aunts, 26 cousins, and her posse of friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather; Jim McKenney.

Parker attended Fort Scott High School and just completed her freshman year. She was active in FFA, FSHS Volleyball, FSHS Wrestling Manager, and the First Presbyterian Youth Group.

She recently served as a volunteer camp counselor at Holy Family Camp Ministries for Persons with Disabilities in Wichita, KS. She enjoyed her time on the Fort Scott Hurricanes swim team. In the 3rd grade Parker took it upon herself to organize a penny drive for the victims of 9/11, influencing her peers and turning it into an all school event.

She enjoyed participating in the Good Neighbor Blitz with the First Presbyterian Youth Ministries in the summer of 2008.

Parker was a donor through the Midwest Transplant Network.

She lived and loved life; she filled our hearts with love! You could always find her with a big beautiful smile on her face.

The celebration of Parker's life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Scott, Kansas.

In the spirit of Parker, colorful attire is to be worn.

Graveside services will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. No visitation will be held.
