Paul Eugene "Corkey" SMITH

Smith, Paul Eugene "Corkey", 79, died April 28, 2009 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kan. Diagnosed with MS in 1954 then retired from Boeing, Paul enjoyed traveling, working around the house and in the yard. Born May 13, 1929 in Blue Mound, Kan. the son of Josie Alice (Brownback) and Roy John Smith Sr. They both preceded him in death as well as brother, Roy John Smith Jr. Paul married Lois Marie Carley June 26, 1948 in Kincaid, Kan. She survives, along with son, Dr. John Stephen "Steve" Smith of Erie, Kan., brother, Karl David Smith of Whidbey Island, Wash., grandchildren, Matthew Garrett Smith of Burlington, VT, Jeremi Anne Jacquinot of Erie, Kan, great-grandchildren, Preston Jacquinot of St. Paul, Kan, Josie Jacquinot of Erie, Kan, Elise Renee Jacquinot of Erie, Kan, and Violet Jillian Smith of Burlington, Vt.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., May 17, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Erie, Kan. Private inurnment will be held at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, Kan. Memorials may be made to: Prairie Mission Retirement Village 242 Carroll St., St. Paul, Kan.
