Margie Ladine Johnson, age 81, resident of Fort Scott, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, 2009, at her home.

She was born April 4, 1927, the daughter of Edward D. Clark and Dora Anna Whiteside Clark.

She was a member of the Fort Scott High School Class of 1946.

Margie married Robert Wayne Johnson on Nov. 17, 1946, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1984.

She was a former hairdresser and worked for many years at Fort Scott Greenhouse.

Margie was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a trustee for Memory Gardens Cemetery. She will be remembered as the ticket taker at Fort Scott Jubilee.

Survivors include one son: Bob Johnson and wife Linda, Fort Scott; two sisters: Ruby Base, Jacksonville, Ark.; and Helen Sexton, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are two grandsons, Derrick Johnson and Michael Johnson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Rev. Reed Hartford will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the Cheney Witt Chapel.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
