Martha Nell Elbrader, age 88, former resident of 111 Andrick, Fort Scott, Kan., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Mercy Health Center.

She was born January 6, 1920 in Liberal, Mo., the daughter of Paul C. Fast and Alta Jane Gilmartin Fast.

She married Harold H. Elbrader on Jan. 19, 1943 at Wichita, Kan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1975. Martha was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she quilted on Mondays. She also loved ceramics, textile painting and dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Shepard and husband Bill, Fort Scott and Betty Gordon and husband Richard "Dick", Kansas City, Kan.

Also surviving are two brothers, Gene Fast, Lamar, Mo., and Thayne Fast, Lebanon, Mo.; one sister, Phyllis Carpenter, Richmond, Kan.; two grandchildren, Lisa Kolojaco and Tim Gordon; four great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren and two step-great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Brenner and Ruby Riley.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m., Saturday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.

Burial will follow in Mt. Orum Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
