Doris Mae Withrow, 88, Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Medicalodge of Fort Scott. She was born July 12, 1919 in Forgan, Okla., the daughter of George Walter and Edna Belle (Montgomery) Crosby. She married Charley N. Withrow, Sr. on March 10, 1934, at Forgan, Okla. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1999. Doris had worked as a cook at Memorial Hospital for 27 years. She had previously lived in McPherson, Kan., and Salina, Kan. Survivors include one son, John Withrow and wife, Barbara, of Hutchinson, Kan.; two daughters, Joycelyn "Jo" Stogsdill, Fort Scott, and Sally Caffey and husband, Jim, Fort Scott; one brother, Calvin Crosby, Liberal, Kan.; and two sisters, Anna Brown, Ponca City, Okla., and Claudette Caffey, Liberal, Kan. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charley Withrow, Jr., a grandson, Michael Quesada, and two brothers, George Crosby, Jr. and Isom "Buster" Crosby. She had nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, and six step-great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, at the Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, Kan. Interment will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time, Thursday, at the funeral home.
