Helen Charlene Motley, age 74, a resident of Fort Scott, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Fort Scott Medicalodge. She was born September 15, 1933, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Shirley Alanzo Sanborn and Helen Christine Coyle Sanborn. Charlene was a 1951 graduate of Fort Scott High School. She attended Pittsburg State University. She retired from administration with Southwestern Bell Telephone following 25 years of employment. She was a member of Community Christian Church. Her hobbies included ceramics, swimming, reading and spending time with family.

Survivors include one son, Kent Michael Wuellner and wife Vickie, Olathe, Kansas; a daughter, Kelly Burrows, Fort Scott; and a sister, Wilda Carol Wilson, Fort Scott. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Laura Ann McGinnis, Overland Park, Kansas, Kipp Wuellner and wife Abriel, Fredonia, Kansas, Kyle Wuellner, Olathe, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Kaden Wuellner; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, J. L. Sanborn.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services for Charlene Motley at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.
