R.C. Campbell, age 69, resident of 701 Fairway, Fort Scott, died unexpectedly late Wednesday, April 2, 2008, of a heart attack, in Goodyear, Ariz., while visiting friends. He was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Fort Scott, the son of Roscoe C. Campbell and Mary Bernice Browning Campbell. R.C. was a 1956 graduate of Fort Scott High School. He attended Fort Scott Community College. He trained for six months at Fort Leonard wood in the Army Reserve program. He married Sharon Jarman on June 15, 1958, in Fort Scott. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this June. He worked in the family business of Campbell Laundry until its closing. He was then employed in sales for Ruddick's for many years. At the time of his death, R.C. worked in real estate sales for Crown Realty and operated a printing business with his wife, Campbell Print Solutions. He attended Community Christian Church and was active in the Fort Scott Chamber of Commerce. R.C. was a team captain on the 2008 successful Chamber membership drive. He was a past member of the Lions club and helped organize the Fort Scott Wrestling Club for kids. He was an avid Tiger sports fan in whatever sport at the time and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was a past member of the Bourbon County Bass Club.
