Ora Lynell Stuart, age 90, former resident of 607 Margrave, Fort Scott, Kansas, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the Mercy Health Center. He was born September 4, 1917, in Stotesbury, MO, the son of William F. Stuart and Libbie E. Deffebach Stuart. He married Rama Alexander in 1936. She preceded him in death in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean era. After graduating from Stotesbury High School in 1936, Ora graduated from the Fort Scott Junior College and the Kansas State Teacher's College with an education degree. He received his Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Pittsburg State in 1962 and his Education Specialist Degree in 1965. He taught at Camdenton, MO, Stillwell, KS, and Fort Scott, where he began teaching in 1961. He attended Community Christian Church. He served more than 7,000 hours as a volunteer at the Fort Scott National Historic Site. He was active in the Genealogy Society. As a youth, he studied and wrote!
