Grace Leona Rourk, age 88, the widow of Alva Curtis Rourk and a former resident of Fort Scott, died Sunday evening, July 1, 2007, at the Tri Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Bourbon, Mo., the daughter of Forrest Dwight Greenfield and Marcella Schulze Greenfield. Grace graduated from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Community College. She married Alva Curtis Rourk on Feb. 15, 1942, in Garland, Kan. and became a homemaker. Mr. Rourk preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. Grace has also been employed by the Western Insurance Company for seven years. She was a member of Eastern Star, the Rebekah's, the Thrift Circle Club and the Garland Community Club. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church of Arcadia, Kan.

Grace is survived by a daughter, Sally Rourk Selvy and husband, J. Courtney, of Batesville, Miss.; three sisters, Helena Greenfield Ramsey, of Fort Scott, Doris Greenfield Pierce of Louisville, Ky., and Barbara Greenfield Racine, of Colonial Beach, Va.; a brother, Frank Greenfield, of Fort Scott; three grandchildren, Chris Rourk, Pittsburg, Kan., Justin Selvy, Batesville, Miss., and Erin Selvy, of Jackson, Miss.; and two great grandchildren, Hannah Grace Selvy and Kadin Marie Selvy. She was preceded in death by her son, Alvis Curtis Rourk II, a sister, Julia Greenfield Finch and a brother, Robert Greenfield.

Rev. R. B. Shoemaker, Rev. Dale Cummins and Dr. J. Courtney Selvy will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007, at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Clarksburg Cemetery in Garland, Kan.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, July 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Cheney Witt Chapel. Eastern Star services will be held at 7 p.m. during the visitation.
