JAMES MORRES LIEPMAN
James Morres Liepman, age 80, passed away at his home in The Woodlands, Texas on February 2, 2007. He was born August 25, 1926, in Fort Scott and reared in Waterville, Kansas, He was a charter member of The Woodlands Country Club and The Woodlands Rotary, Retired Vice President of Smith Barney, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Temple in Fort Scott, Master Mason at Rising Son Lodge of Fort Scott and Mirza Shrine Temple in Pittsburg, and a founding member of the Unity Church of The Woodlands, Texas. He served during World War II as an Army Air Corps. Lt. Recon Pilot, and had a BA in Science and Physical Education from Pittsburg State University. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5, with the Rev. Cindy Lippert of the Unity Church of Wichita, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway St., in Wichita, officiating. Military graveside services followed at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Masonic Garden, at 1824 N. Oliver St, in Wichita. Survived by wife, Davena Rigel Liepman; and sister-in-law Janisue Rigel; seven children, Col. James M. Liepman (Ret.) of Yorktown, Va., Mark H. Liepman of New Boston, Texas, Cecil J. Liepman of Houston, Texas, Mary E. Harmon of Bartlett, Tenn., Barbara A. Butschek of Rockwall, Texas, Margaret R. Dresher of Wichita, John F. Liepman of Austin, Texas, and their spouses; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
