Albert Mark Oskee, age 77, a former resident of Fort Scott and the West Liberty area, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at the Christian Health Center in Nevada, Missouri. He was born November 21, 1928, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of Mark Butler Oskee and Olive Pearl Roweth Oskee. Mark was a graduate of the Fulton High School. He later served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Corinne Bloesser on January 21, 1951, at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Mark had worked as manager of the Sherwin Williams store in Fort Scott for twenty-eight years. He later attended the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri and became a licensed local pastor with the United Methodist Church. He served as pastor of the Hume United Methodist Church for nine years and for the Devon and Mapleton United Methodist Churches for one year. He retired from the ministry in 1991. Mark was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, the Fulton Masonic Lodge, Violet Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the Fort Scott Kiwanis Club, the Hume Lions Club and the Stotesbury Grange.
