DOROTHY J. ANDERSON

Dorothy J. Anderson, 90, of Olathe, Kan., passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Aberdeen Village.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Aberdeen Village. Inurnment will be at Fort Scott National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 27.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The State of Kansas Talking Books, 1515 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, Kan., 66604-1374.

Dorothy was born March 25, 1922, in Fort Scott, Kan., to W. Earl and Geneva Konantz. She lived in Fort Scott most of her life and graduated from Fort Scott High School and Community College.

She married Kirk T. Anderson in September 1944 at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, in Fort Scott, Kan. She was a devoted wife and mother.

They moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1966 where she worked for Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base. Dorothy truly loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 years.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Jane Purtle of Osage Beach, Mo., K. Tom Anderson and his wife Sonia of Henderson, Nev., Nancy J. Vesey and her husband Ed of Olathe, Kan., and Robert E. Anderson and partner David of Galveston, Texas, as well as seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.
