KARLESKINT

Alwilla Cathline Karleskint, 82, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, June 11, 2012, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home in Moran, Kan.

She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Blue Mound, Kan., the daughter of Elvin A. Boyd and Josephine F. Spillman Boyd. She graduated from Uniontown High School.

She married Leo James Karleskint on June 25, 1947, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1993.

Alwilla retired after working as a teller for Citizens National Bank for over 26 years. She was a people person who seemed to know everyone wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling on occasion and was an avid reader.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Karleskint and wife Iris and Mark Karleskint and wife Mary Jo, all of Fort Scott; three daughters, Marilyn Miller, Tulsa, Okla., Barbara Marchant, Fort Scott, and Sharon Manahan and husband Glen, Fort Scott; a brother, Dale Boyd, Lancaster, Calif.; and a sister, Avis Stradley and husband James, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Howard Karleskint.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at the Chapel.
