G.W. and Portteus Corporon reunion held

The G.W. and Portteus Corporon reunion was held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 25-27, at the Lamplighter Inn at Pittsburg, Kan. A total of 57 relatives with a few close friends attended the event.

On Friday, four of the Corporons who graduated from Arcadia High School, each with a spouse or friend, attended the alumni banquet that night in the ballroom of the same inn.

On Sunday morning, seven of the group attended Arcadia Christian Church with Mary Virginia Shead. A picnic dinner was held at Vickie and Larry Shead's farm in rural Garland, Kan., at noon.

A committee brought in Chicken Annie's chicken with side dishes from the same place (for old time's sake) as well as home prepared foods.

Children entertained themselves with the swings, baby ducks and kittens.

The adults visited as they roamed the area and admired the garden and beautiful flowers. Late that evening, many returned to their respective homes or visited old time friends from the Arcadia area.

Also in attendance were Peggy Wickstrom, Doreen Di Biagio; Nancy Corporon, Stan and Taylor Parker; Port Hughes; Bill and Ethan Corporon; Randy and Charles Corporon; Noah Toro, Mary Virginia Shead; Beth Murphy; Cassie and Chase Murphy; Mark and Haley Shead with Katy and Benjamin; Rose Campbell; David Hunt; Tony and Dana Corporon; Ralph and Cindy Shead; Erin Shead; Bryan and Marisa Keene; Jonathan, Jessica and Olivia Blodgettt; Lisa Blodgett; Marissa and Paige Ussery.
