Mae Susong, 104, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, March 9, 2012, at Medicalodges for Fort Scott. She was born Dec. 26, 1907, in Anson, Texas, the daughter of Leonard Davis and Martha Horton Davis. She married Thomas E. Morrison. He preceded her in death. She later married Loyd Susong. He also preceded her in death.

Mae worked as a secretary for a trucking company. She also worked as a waitress for several restaurants including her own café in Ponca City, Okla. She was a people person blessed with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed crocheting and playing board games. Her days at Medicalodges were special to her, especially the friends she made while there. She was a member of the Iola Baptist Temple, Iola, Kan.

Survivors include one son, S. W. Morrison, California; and three daughters, Cora Mae Collins and husband, the Rev. A.F., Fort Scott, Betty Minnick and husband, Jake, Fort Worth, Texas, and Francis Nicholson and husband, John, Fancy Gap, Va. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides both husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons, M. L. George, J. D. Morrison and infant Frank Morrison; two brothers; and two sisters.

The Revs. A.F. Collins and Roger Collins will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Iola Baptist Temple and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
