Alice E. Hays, formerly of the Fort Scott area, passed away in the early morning on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Medicalodges of Wichita in Wichita, Kan., at the age of 75.

Alice was born the daughter of George Blackburn and Hazel Irene Miller on Monday, Aug. 31, 1936, in St. Helens, Ore.

Alice was a purchase order clerk for the Boeing Company for numerous years. She enjoyed reading and was very fond of Montana after she and her husband Paul spent years living there.

Survivors include; son Frank Hays and his wife Patricia of Lawrence, Kan.; son David Hays and his wife Sherry of Mulvane, Kan.; granddaughter Amanda Hinrichs and her husband Dustin of Kansas City, Kan.; grandson Chad Hays of Pittsburg, Kan.; grandson Eric Hays of Mulvane, Kan.; brother Bruce Blackburn of St. Helens, Ore., and sister Rose Smith and her husband Jim of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul Hays.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A private interment for Alice will be held at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan.
