Ina Margaret Lafferty

Ina Margaret Lafferty, 87, resident of rural Bronson, Kan., died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Uniontown, Kan., the daughter of Arthur Andrew Walker and Jessie Newtown McHenry Walker. She graduated from Uniontown High School. She married John Edward Lafferty. He preceded her in death. She worked as a waitress at the White Grill in Fort Scott, Kan., for more than 10 years. She also raised cattle and sheep as well as co-owning the antique store in Bronson. She often set up booths at flea markets and raised vegetables in her garden. Ina greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and the kids, especially the kids at church. She had the responsibility of raising and caring for her handicapped grandson, Richard, for the past 25 years. They both loved traveling together. She was a member of the Mapleton United Methodist Church.
