Beverly Earlene (Pettibon) Davis, 74, Richards, Mo., passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Freeman Health System West, Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Deerfield, Mo., to Norman L. Pettibon and Lucille Anna Pilcher Pettibon

Beverly, the youngest of three children, was raised in the Deerfield area. She graduated from Nevada High School, class of 1955.

On April 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Floyd Eugene Davis in Fort Scott, Kan. To this union two daughters were born. She was a homemaker as well as a school bus driver for the Nevada R-5 Schools. This allowed her to spend time with her children.

In 1978, Beverly and Floyd moved to Gillette, Wyo., where she worked at Amax Coal Company driving an electrical haul truck. In 1981, they moved back to Nevada where they retired. In 1994, Beverly and Floyd built a home in the country, west of Deerfield, where she enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Beverly was a member of the Deerfield Baptist Church, Deerfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Otter Walker and her husband John, Richards, and Connie Liles and her husband Kenneth also of Richards; four grandchildren, Chris Otter and his wife Kelly, Corey Otter and his wife Stephanie, all of Deerfield, Amanda Liles-Pollock and her husband Josh, Nevada, and Jared Liles and his wife Jamie, Oronogo, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Haley, C.J., Braxton, Brady Otter and JoDee Pollock; two sisters, Margaret Leatherman, Fort Scott, Kan., and Norma Yoos, Bronaugh, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 31, 2000, and one niece Beth Cannon.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Mo., with Rev. Bryan Keith officiating. Those who wish may contribute to the Deerfield Baptist Church or the Deerfield Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
